Mr Tumnus being silly/difficult and pouting after punching the White Witch.

We were spoiled this year when my friend, who is a professional photographer was in our area and offered to take some pictures of the kids and do some fun composite work.

The kids LOVE seeing themselves in Narnia.

Thank you Natalie for making our Halloween extra special!

Swim Team

First Meet:

The girls started swim team 3 weeks ago for the first time ever.  They swim all the time at home but have never been exposed to actual strokes.

The first day of swim team they did a swim test to make sure the kids could swim the length of the pool.  I was worried for Paige but she was able to do it!

We missed the first swim meet due to VBS, but this week they finally were able to participate (which is good because all that swimming laps every morning without the taste of competition was wearing on them.)

Paige's group was first up with Breast stroke individual.  Literally the day before she could NOT do the stroke so I got in the pool for the first time this year and worked with her and the other girls on their strokes and dives.

I am so proud of Paigey! She got 3rd in Breast stroke, and in this race, (Freestyle) her stroke is a thousand times improved since we started. Look at that dive!  She was the only one to not belly flop.

Joy's Breast stroke, she got 2nd!

Claire's breast stroke 1st place!  (She's the one with the red cap)

Freestyle was not as good for all of them but still better than I expected.  We came home with many place ribbons (1st-4th and a few participation ribbons (5th-8th) "Shame Ribbons" as Claire calls them.

They have a renewed sense of purpose now and are eager for the weekend break to be over to get back to the pool.  Next week is butterfly.

In other news, Paige got a waterproof camera for her birthday.  So the girls are having fun taking underwater pictures
